Frank & Alexis Campbell

Frank, born in 1957, comes from a background of business administration but, following his call to the ministry, was ordained in 1989 to a church in Irvine, Ayrshire. Though his ministry there was brief and not conspicuously successful, this was where he was greatly blessed by meeting and marrying Alexis, and inheriting three children!

The family moved to the Borders in 1991, initially to Ancrum Parish Church, with the subsequent addition of the parishes of Lilliesleaf [1994] and Crailing & Eckford [1999]. The congregations were united in 2004, the same year as Frank became Clerk to the Presbytery of Jedburgh.

In addition to their three now grown-up children – Lisa, Laura & Alistair – Alexis and Frank also have two grandchildren, Connor & Amy.

In 2007, Alexis left Greggs after a number of years as area manager, and is now café supervisor at Woodside Walled Garden, in the heart of the parish. This has left her a little more time to develop her own ministry to the women of the church, with a special emphasis on all aspects of health and wholeness.

Away from church life, Alexis enjoys home design, gardening and wildlife, especially birds, and has been delighted by the arrival at the manse in 2008 of pairs of goldfinches and nuthatches. Frank is a non-league football referee and linesman, and is also interested in trains and buses of all shapes and sizes.
