The Covid-19 shutdown has hit our churches very hard.  It would be great to be able to open at least one of the churches soon, but that is proving somewhat problematic. Head Office advice is that folk over 70 should probably not be going to places of worship.  At least 80% of our congregations are over 70 including our Locum!  There are screeds of instructions and rules to be followed before and after being allowed to open.  People will be needed to commit to helping with cleaning, sanitising, registering attendees and stewarding to ensure that all the rules are adhered to.  A booking system for attendees has to be set up and maintained and so on.  Perhaps the ‘powers that be’ need to question their faith in the light of Psalm 91!

Our Interim Moderator is Revd Sandy Young and our Locum is the well-loved Liz Findlay.  Please respond to the letter sent out to the membership recently and let the session clerk have your ideas.

A word of thanks to all who have been regularly giving to the church, whether by Bank, cheque or cash.  Even though the churches are closed, there are still substantial on-going expenses that have to be met.
